01 / THE BOOK

Leadership is not only
about how far you rise.

What if the greatest measure of leadership was not the title you held, the results you achieved or the recognition you received, but what became possible for others because you were there?

In Who Gets Better Because You Lead?, Prenavin Naidoo draws on personal experiences, professional challenges, international journeys and reflections on leadership to explore a different understanding of success, influence and legacy.

Moving from personal stories to practical leadership principles, this book challenges readers to examine how they communicate, make decisions, develop others and build something that lasts beyond their own involvement.

An invitation to lead with greater awareness, responsibility and humanity.

03 / IN THE AUTHOR’S WORDS

A personal note
from the author.

I did not write this book because I believe I have mastered leadership.

I wrote it because the experiences that have shaped my life have continually challenged my understanding of what it means to lead.

From the lessons my parents taught me to the people who believed in me, the opportunities I received, the mistakes I made and the experiences of rebuilding my life in another country, I began to question how we measure success.

I came to believe that leadership is not only about what we achieve for ourselves. It is also about the opportunities we create, the confidence we develop in others and what continues because we were there.

My hope is that this book encourages you to reflect on your own journey, reconsider the influence you have and recognise the possibilities you can create for somebody else.

A QUESTION WORTH CARRYING

Who gets better
because you lead?

A position can give you authority. The way you listen, decide and respond determines what people experience in your presence.

Achievement tells part of the story. The colleague who grows in confidence, the team that learns to think independently, the opportunity you make room for: these reveal another measure of success.

What continues when you step away? Who is more capable, more courageous or better equipped because you were there?

The question belongs to every one of us.
